This slide shows the TG and DTG data for the treated and untreated fibers.
From TG data as shown on the left hand, it is seen that the untreated fiber rapidly degrade in the temperature range of 150-350C whereas the 1 and 5% alkali-treated fibers clearly exhibit better thermal stability.
From DTG curves shown in the right hand, the first peak appeared for the untreated sample at about 200C belongs to the degradation of the noncellulose materials, whereas this peak is not observed for the treated samples.
The second DTG peaks of all sample appeared at about 350C are the degradation of cellulose.
