When available evaluation instruments are checked in this way, it is quite probable that the curriculum constructor will find that there are available instruments which can be quite satisfactory for certain of the educational objectives, that there are other available instruments which can be modified somewhat and made appropriate for certain other education objectives, and finally, that there are some educational objectives for which no available evaluation instruments can properly be used. For there last, it may be necessary to construct or devise methods for getting evidence about the student’s attainment of these objectives. The construction of evaluation instruments can be a very difficult take if the purpose is to get a highly refined instrument, but a great deal can be done of a less refined sort by collecting educational objectives. We shell discuss illustrations of these a little later.
