According to Hennings (1993: 2), he suggested that reading is a thinking process that set two people in action together - an author had reader. The author has a purpose in writing and message to communicate. In writing a piece, the facts and ideas and organizes in a clear way.
But what you get from a text also depends on what you bring to the reading of the text and your purpose for reading it. As you read, you connect what is in the text to what you know about the topic. The more connection you make, the more you get out of a selection when you read.
Reading and thinking are closely related skill, and both are very important for your success in your college (Broderick 1996; 2).
