In the search for solutions to this issue, the South and
Southeastern regions have fallen back on reforested species,
particularly the genera Eucalyptus and Pinus. Increasing
interest has focused on the study of Wood-Polymer Composites
(WPC) obtained from reforested species for the
aforementioned reasons. However, for this alternative to be
feasible on an industrial scale, it is essential that the performance
of WPCs be well characterized, from their production
process to the requisites for their various applications
in the construction and furniture industries, among
others.
