this cycle of inefficiency can be broken.
As the GSS operates a number of sport
programmes with direct implications for the
performance of the NSOs (e.g. coaching,
talent identification), future research might
usefully appraise the success of these programmes
in respect of the development of
each sport concerned. This may place NSOs
in a better position to exert collective pressure
for change or improvements by the GSS
in these areas, and bring about improved
performance in real outputs.
