Within the distance looking out to the sea there are a mouse and a cat islands, another symbol of this Cape. There is a story behind these islands. Long time ago, there was a Chinese merchant whom owned a junk ship traveled with his trading goods back and forth between China and Songkhla. One day he bought a cat and a dog taking them with him back to China. Meanwhile the dog and the cat got so bored being on the ship so they plot a plan to escape. The dog and the cat somehow knew that the Chinese merchant has a magic glass ball to protect from drowning. So the cat thought of a plan for the mouse to steal a magic glass ball from the merchant with the agreement that they will take the mouse ashore with them. The three of them swim away from the ship by the mouse has a magic glass ball in his mouth. While they were swimming along, it dawned on the mouse, he realized that once they reached the land the dog and the cat will definitely take a magic glass ball away. The cat which swimming following behind thought the same thing so he swimming close after the mouse. By doing so it scared the mouse so the mouse tried to swim away accidentally dropped the magic glass ball caused both of them to exhaust and drown later turned to be the cat and mouse islands. And for the dog struggled to the shore and dropped death because of out of his breath and so the dog became a stone in the bay of Tang Guan Songkhla. The magic glass ball that fallen off the mouse's mouth shattered turned into the sand called Sai Kaew beach located on the north side of the cape Sone.
