One of the goals of the National Strategic Exports Plan (PENX) is to enable to increase threefold the number of Peruvian franchises around the world by 2025, and to reach the 350 subsidiaries of Peruvian enterprises abroad, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Edgar Vasquez informed.
He also said these franchises are usually focused on the gastronomic (restaurant) sector. Nonetheless, there is potential in the personal care segment, which could "grow in the future," he noted.
"Even though we already have 110 franchises around the world, we want to reach the 350 subsidiaries by 2025," Vasquez told.
In addition, Vasquez said there will be a cost reduction through the one-stop shop for foreign trade (VUCE) and the financing programs to be developed.
Later on, he assured by 2017 the Ministry expects to create 50 market development plans, so that trade advisors will provide "opportune" information concerning market opportunities, distribution chains and consumption patterns.
"This way, in the upcoming years each trade advisor will have to issue development plans to favor the presence of Peruvian enterprises located abroad, instead of just limiting themselves to promote the export products," Vasquez told.
The move intends to diversify the Peruvian export offer around the world.
