Previous studies only revealed the antifungal activityof the crude EtOAc extracts in spite of the activity of the sin-gle components. However, this investigative direction wouldlead to fascinating scientific research and practical applica-tion value because of the extract’s obvious broad-spectrumantifungal ability. This article is also the first report on theisolation of endophytic C. globosum from H. cordata as a biocon-trol agent. Moreover, preliminary data from process parameteroptimization assays will provide good guiding significancefor harvesting more secondary metabolites from strain 28.In addition, numerous secondary metabolites from multipleC. globosum strains have been reported and showed a vari-ety of biological activities including cytotoxicity, antibacterialactivity, phytotoxicity, elicitor activity and others.37Therefore,studying this organism and its antifungal compounds furtherto develop practical applications will be a promising line ofresearch for the future.
