Q: So do you get angry in real life? There's the feeling that you look particularly harmless.
LH: Not often, I've got a pretty good temper. Unless my parents or friends get bullied.
Q: Do you still remember how many NGs there were? Was it really stressful?
LH: Many times, can't remember. I was really nervous, maybe the emotions were there, but I messed up the lines; maybe the lines went alright, but the emotions were lacking. At the beginning it felt really awkward, but eventually I adapted and learned to just let go and give it my all.
Q: Before this you've acted in MVs, how's that different from acting in a movie?
LH: There's a big difference, I didn't have lines in those MVs, I just had to act, but it was still very hard. It's after I said my first line in my very first movie that I realized, wow, it's really hard having to say these lines. You've got to say them naturally but smoothly, and so I've got more learning to do.
Q: Is memorizing lines difficult for you?
LH: Not really, I felt that memorizing was easy. Because I'm still young and so my memory is good. How you say your lines naturally and express the feelings you wish to express are the hardest.
Q: I've asked the director in private and he's got good remarks for you, saying that you've far exceeded his expectations, in terms of pronunciation, volume etc (口条 involves several aspects) and that you're very clever. Do you think that you're gifted in acting?
LH: I can't really say, I'm a shy person, a newbie, and I've got to continue working hard. My foundation isn't really good since I haven't learned this before, and so I still have to brush up on the fundamental acting lessons. Act in more movies, find out more, acquire more experience from the seniors. If there's the chance I'll definitely study acting.
Q: Do you enjoy acting? Can you adapt to the work pace and methods?
LH: It's very interesting, so I wish to act out different roles, really want to challenge myself since this is a new area for me. Before this, even though I've faced the same camera on stage, but the positioning and the angles are all different, it's very new and refreshing.
Q: In "Back To 20" there's a scene in which 杨子珊 (the female lead) forcefully kisses you, how did you feel?
LH: I don't know, I've forgotten everything. Back then my mind was a blank, maybe my ears were red, because I'm a shy person. (Here the staff members stepped in: "We found that his ears were red in the photos.", and Lu Han shyly touched his ears.) Zi Shan jie (jie = older sister) said I just had to stay still and not to move, that she'd help me. Because it's from a granny, feeling that her grandson is about to succeed, so it's a kiss from a granny to her grandson, it's not what everyone thinks it is.
Q: Actually this is nothing too outrageous and you're already so shy, what if next time there's a real kiss scene, what will you do?
LH: Maybe it'll be a little awkward, but I'll do my best if that's required of me. I'll get shy.
Q: Where's your bottom line? What kind of movies/shows will you refuse?
LH: It still depends on the script, if it's very good, I'll still go with the director's wishes.
Q: How about something like "Lust, Caution"?
LH: Something like that is still a distance away.
Q: How about something that requires revealing your chest?
LH: This is OK. I wish to show a more manly side of me.
Q: What kind of acting style do you think suits you more?
LH: I'm still not very good at acting now, so for now it's still more comfortable to be acting roles that are similar to my own personality. After learning, I'll challenge more roles, and personally I still prefer comedies, I'm also a very interesting person. Everyone can go watch the movie, in "Back To 20" there are many small but surprising parts, and the more comedic side of me will be highlighted.
Q: Is there any chance that you'll take up television shows? Do you usually watch them?
LH: I'll definitely take up the challenges if there are opportunities or shows that suit me. I do watch them, if I have free time on my hands I'd randomly check them out. Before this I've watched more foreign shows. Actually even more of them were anime. "Attack on Titan" is too wicked, I really like it. Recently "Tokyo Ghoul" is the trend. I've liked watching anime since young.
Q: Do you wait for enough updates before catching up or do you catch them live? Do you hate it when people spoil the plot for you?
LH: I won't chase the plot, because waiting for an update will be really uncomfortable, so I'll always store them up and watch. As for spoiling the plot, it doesn't matter, if nobody tells me anything I'll just watch to find out on my own.
Q: Will you be opposed to the role of an antagonist or someone who's undergone great suffering?
LH: I'm okay with both. But as of now I can't really judge for myself, I still need to find out more.
Q: Have you been following China's variety shows? Will you participate?
LH: I haven't gotten a chance to watch, but I've heard about them, like "Where Are We Going, Dad?" and stuff, because everyone is talking about it. Of course, maybe I'll try those celebrities-playing-soccer shows, for example to receive training and enter a competition against a professional team. If there's such a show I will want to, and be really interested in joining.
Q: What kind of songs do you like? Do you like any Chinese singers?
LH: I prefer R&B, HIPPOP, and occasionally slow and soothing songs. I'll like the songs as long as they're nice, like Wang Li Hom, Jay Chou, JJ Lin. I'd go sing their songs when I go for karaoke.
Q: Do you hog the mic at KTV? What do you usually sing?
LH: No, I'll sing with all the friends I'm there with. It depends on my mood that day, if I'm happy I'll sing the really high songs, if I'm moody then I'll sing some slow soothing songs.
Q: You've met Wang Li Hom, JJ Lin, and Jay Chou before, how was it like for you then?
LH: I've met the three of them once, all together, and it was on Jackie Chan's birthday. I've been listening to their songs since young and now, being able to perform on the same stage as them, it feels quite magical. I was really shy and didn't know what to say, just went over for a photo, like a little fan.
Q: Is singing while dancing an easy thing for you?
LH: It's something I've been practicing and getting used to everyday, so it isn't very tiring
