The "moral center" of Divergent and Insurgent is that people shouldn't be divided into sections by characteristics or traits. People should be able to be together as one group. In Divergent and Insurgent, Veronica Roth talks about a distopian society that is divided into factions based on characteristics. She tells a story about a girl, Tris, describing how and why the idea of division of people is a poor idea.
The idea of having factions were to allow people with the same characteristics live together. The people would have basically the same idea of how to deal with things. But, it seems that even with the division, factions still have conflicts. This shows that the division of people doesn't work, and people should work together instead of separating.
Veronica Roth's main message is to stay together even with conflicts
