Daily cognitive evaluations by the primary nurse with every two
hour vital signs consisting of blood pressure and pulse oximetry
by the ancillary staff. Increasing nursing awareness of patient
orientation enabled the nursing staff to quickly identify changes
in patient status while providing more direct patient care.
