Bench press 54 reps!
When you train with NFL players, there is only one thing you can do for chest. Combine reps with 225. Before we get to that, we needed to pre-exhaust by going heavy on inclines. This way we get the same stress and fatigue that the young athletes have at the combine. They are never cold and they have a lot of weight on their shoulders as the coaches, scouts and cameras watch them. So I wanted to make this fair by pre-fatiguing before jumping on the bench press. The best in combine history is 51 reps with 225lbs on bench, set by the 281 pound defensive tackle Justin Ernest in 1999. Only 14 men in combine history have achieved more than 40. Today, I went for 54 reps. Some say I'm loco in the head. I would have to agree.
