on the median of the track. After finding P, the target position X is found by adding a distance D on the median. When X or P are on a curve, D is the length of the arc between P and X. To keep calculations simple, we constrain the shape of our track to one that includes 180◦circular curves. Then the−−→ Rangle α between R and CX is calculated. Haptic cues need to be provided such that the driver will change the current −−→ direction of Rthe vehicle R to CX. To avoid small oscillations,−−→ a dead-band window of size β is implemented around CX (see Figure 4). Having a window with a fixed size in terms of angles enables the car come and stay closer to the medianand prevents crossing over the median to the other side,since the radius of the target window gets smaller as the cargets closer to the median (see Figure 5)
