Hi groups AA and AB,
After I read your comments at the end of last semester about what you wanted to learn, I see that many of you don't feel completely confident about the "Writer's Process" or organizing and writing a complete essay.
So now we have finished the reading test we will start on essay writing and I've decided to show you another writing unit different from what you have in your book! This should make it a little easier to write a clear thesis statement and organize your writing in a logical order.
This is your midterm date: The information didn't say which room.
February 12, 2558
(13: 30-15: 30).
Your midterm test is to write the First Draft of the 5 Paragraph Essay assignment in this Unit I am attaching.
We only have next week to get ready for it.
The Unit is about Banning something that many people feel is "dangerous". The purpose is to think about the good or bad effects when you make something not allowed or illegal.
It's very important to see the difference between the "dangerous" thing and the act of banning it.
For example, a person may not ever drink alcohol but that same person could think that banning alcohol is a bad idea.
For Individual Homework:
1st Print the Unit for Class
2nd Read the Story on Page 3 and the Freewriting Example on Page 5
3rd Do your own "Freewriting" on Page 6 with your choice of something many people consider "Dangerous"
4th Print an article from a magazine or newspaper about the same "Dangerous" thing to discuss in class
Tell me if you get this. See you next week.
