Low context people refer to their individual self. They see themselves as unique and as individuals (even though they may be apart of many groups, their view of self is higher than their group view).
Members of low context cultures are socialised to be independent and they are more reliant on themselves rather than a group to survive and accomplish great things.
If a person from a low context culture does something bad/wrong then this is a reflection on them (as an individual – individualistic) and not a representation of the entire group. (Tom Chan is a bad/good person, that PSU student is well/poorly behaved etc.)
The American finds his friends next door and among those with whom he works. It has been noted that they take people up quickly and drop them just as quickly.
