Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae . Effects of BR on diseases
may be concentration dependent, as shown by Nakashita et al.
. Korableva et al. also showed that the effect of BR on
disease can be dependent on the method and time of application,
as was the case for late blight of potato, where effects varied from
negative to positive. BRs were shown to enhance blight by
stimulation of mycelial growth and spore formation by Phytophthora
infestans, and retarding wound repair.
