During the solidification process, instead, it is believed that the
particle engulfment mechanism governs the solidification process
of the preform sample, rather than the particle pushing mechanism,
which is activated in the AR-SiC sample. Generally, it has
been proven that the particle engulfment mechanism results in
the formation of isolated particles inside the grains of metal matrix
during solidification, and the particle pushing mechanism leads to
the formation of agglomerated particles at grain boundaries and in
the last freezing zones of the solidified material
