Morphological and biochemical tests
LAB 18 and LAB 48 were cultured aerobically
overnight in de Man, Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS, Catalog
no. 288110, Becton, Dickinson and Company, Sparks,
MD, USA) broth and were tested for Gram stain affinity,
catalase and oxidase production. Cell morphology and
colonial characteristics were observed on MRS agar.
