Doek – meaning "Cloth" in Dutch – is a Japanese shoe brand based in Kurume, Fukuoka. Doek's shoes are made almost entirely by hand in a 140-year-old factory, using small batch methods that require highly skilled craftsmanship. Kurume is renowned for the production of 'Kasuri', a traditional roughly-woven canvas cloth, usually dyed with natural indigo. Using the finest materials, from kasuri canvas uppers to natural cork footbeds and vulcanised rubber soles, Doek produces refined, perfected interpretations of familiar footwear classics.
