General Manager’s Roles and Responsibilities.
- Initial Site Survey with sales to ensure the system proposed is appropriate and feasible and that the site conditions are good enough to accommodate the D&W system. Making suggestions and changes that would be better suited for that frame in question.
- Meeting with customers to discuss their expectations and requirements. This may involve developing and engineering new methods and systems to meet customer’s requirements, if not standard. Working closely with R&D team and Planners to modify and develop D&W’s current systems to create new systems that are required.
- Arranging and executing subsils and subsil installation. Guiding staff during subsil installation if the configuration is complicated. (Will be done by SM in the future)
- Site measurements. This involves working closely with the contractors on site to ensure they have the site ready in time for a site measure and that they finish to D&W’s standards. (Will be done by SM in the future)
- Clearing details with Planners and ensuring all details are implemented and sizes are correct. (Will be done by SM in the future)
- Checking Shop Drawings and advising planners on mistakes and errors.
- Keeping a close eye on production for these projects, especially frames that are non-standard and require a greater understanding to manufacture correctly.
- Training and guiding installers with difficult configurations or difficult site situations. (Will be done by SM in the future)
- Keeping up-to-date with product issues and installer issues and finding solutions and techniques to solve the problems. This involves site visits and meeting with installers and R&D team to resolve. (Will be done by SM in the future)
- Dealing with all post-handover issues from site and keeping customer’s happy with D&W’s products and services. (Will be done by SM in the future)
- Managing maintenance requests and organizing maintenance schedule. This involves finding and developing new techniques and solutions to post-handover issues. E.g. deflecting frames, water leaks, unsatisfied customers etc. Site visits are necessary sometimes to resolve issues and investigate customer’s complaints.
- Setting targets and agendas for Key Managers and monitoring those targets.
- Work closely with Site Manager to ensure projects run smoothly and are able to be handed over in a 15 day time period.
- Helping and assisting Export department with their projects. This ranges from initial customer queries, clearing technical details, on-going production issues and installation requests.
- Training and helping with continuous improvement and development of D&W’s overseas dealers.
- Overseeing general production in the factory on all levels and implementing systems to continually improve and increase productivity.
- Meeting with potential customers and organizations to constantly promote and push D&W’s products and services. This includes networking events, showroom sale’s meetings and meetings at any location to accommodate the customer.
