This study has shown the importance of migration in structuring the workforce in this case-study organization. Migration status intersects with gender, age and ethnicity in producing more or less ‘appropriate’ workers.
Given this and the scale of migration to work in many post-industrial regions, we argue that migration status is an important inclusion in the analysis of the gendering of service sector work.
