Case study
This research takes as a case study of the determinants of innovative behavior in cleaner technologies in Changshu city of Jiangsu province, China. Changshu is located in the Yangtze River delta which is the most development area in China (Fig. 3). After China’s reform and opening up, Changshu City, has been a considerable industrial development, industrial output value accounted for 58.2% of the city output. In addition, most enterprises in Changshu are SMEs that have lower eco-efficiency technologies. With the increasingly demanding environment of Tai Lake basin, changing the economic growth, accelerate the development of industrial upgrading as the primary task of Changshu. Clean production is considered to be one of essential instrument to improve eco-efficiency and achieve win–win of environment and economic.
