Of all quality assurance processes, management review is
the most important in terms of driving improvements and
efficiency to deliver benefits to the Blood Service beyond
compliance. However, it is often the most poorly performed
and, therefore, the benefits of quality assurance are not
always fully realised. Success is dependent on the extraction
and analysis of data and therefore, it is imperative that
quality assurance programmes include an efficient and
integrated way of extracting, analysing and reporting all
available data
