We foundthat HIVinfection had a statistically significant negative association with UAI, i.e., the odds of UAI for an HIV-infected participant decreased at each visit. However, a meta-analysis highlighted that the level of unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse among study participants substantially declinedafter being notified of a HIV-positive test result (Marks, Crepaz, Senterfitt, & Janssen, 2005 ). In the BMCS, all participants were aware of their HIV status.
