After the earthquake the government could do nothing but fall further down. The lack of structure before and the sudden disaster sent Haiti further in shock. The police that they did had, although few in numbers were made even scarcer. The government was torn into shambles with the only ray of hope for the people being in the upcoming elections of November 28, 2010 (Luton). People are looking at the election as a way to move on from the past and start a new future for the struggling country. Not only will the upcoming elections provide the country with a new president but also, 10 senators and 99 deputies will be elected in legislative elections also.
