To overcome decentralization-related deficiencies in the training organization, the audit recommended that the firm appoint a worldwide training director with 100 percent allocation to overseeing the Bain learning function. It also reorganized the corporate training department in Boston to beef up coordination of program content and logistical support while retaining local sponsorship for many programs. Consequently, many regional programs, such as Experienced Consultant Training, were merged as worldwide offerings to better utilize faculty and other training resources. In each office, coordinators were appointed to oversee office training and locally administered corporate programs, and to improve communication with the corporate training center.
