Schönfelder et al. [101] reported an increase of ER immunostaining in rat offspring exposed to 50 mg/kg/day BPA. In addition, the uterine ER mRNA expression was higher in rodents treated with estrogen varying between 50 g/kg and 4 mg/kg [106,107]. Uterine hypertrophy/hyperplasia and pseudostratification of the LE have been observed with xenobiotic exposure to OTs, phytoestrogen genistein and BPA [51,64,108].
