PROVINCIAL ENGINEER
The Provincial Engineer is the head of all Medium scale Irrigation Projects, Royal Initiative Project, Development Project for security and other Projects as assigned in province. He is the manager of all these project and he bears the Ultimate responsibility for the good functioning of those projects. He reports directry to the Regional Director.
In this manual his responsibilities and duties are described on operation only
RESPONSIBILITIES.
The Provincial Engineer is responsible for :
- Proper planning of the seasonal diversion requirements for each of his Project in relation with the water requirements and water availability.
- Proper allocation of the available water over the cropped areas in each project
- Proper actual distribution of the available water over the cropped areas in each project
- Promotion of efficient water use among farmers.
- Final reporting on the activities in each project.
- Proper functioning of the different project with special emphasis on timely budgeting anf proper staffing
- Provision of productive working conditions for his staff.
- Promote further development of water resources for irrigation in the province
DUTIE
The provincial Engineers’ main duties are:
- To supervise the proper planning of the seasonal and weekly water allocation in the different project.
- To set and publicize the start and end of each irrigation season in each project.
- To decide on allocation scheduling in case of water shortages or water excesses.
