Auroras may occur at time of the year. However,because the north Pole has daylight for 24 hours a day for several months of the year,they can only be seen from about October through April. Depending on the exact location and atmospheric conditions, they may look very different. they may range in color from blue or violet to green,red,or orange.they can look like a faint glow on the horizon like a sunrise or sunset or they can also appear as moving beams or rays of brightly colored light. they are also sometimes described as looking like curtains or ribbons waving in the sky.
