The Assist has 5 power modes, Normal and Mode 1 to Mode 4. These modes work as follows:
In Normal mode the Assist never turns off. For vehicle movement and tracking applications this is normally sufficient, as the Assist draws very little current even when it’s awake.
Mode 1. When it is time to record a position the Assist will turn on, sample 1 position and then turn off again until the next sampling time. If the vehicle is moving, the movement sensor is disabled to prevent it from turning the Assist on continuously. If the vehicle is not moving then the movement sensor is enabled so that the Assist can turn on as soon as the vehicle starts moving. The Assist will also turn on again at the next Health-check time or Phone interval time, whichever comes first.
Mode 2. In addition to the features of Mode 1 the Assist will also turn on at the preset input scanning interval and scan the inputs (ignition, etc), after which it turns off again.
Mode 3. The Assist remains turned on for the duration of the trip. Once the trip ends the Assist waits until the Shutdown time elapses, then turn off. It will turn on again whenever movement is detected, or the Health-check time or Phone interval elapses, whichever comes first.
Mode 4. In addition to the features of Mode 3 the Assist will turn on at the preset input scanning interval and scan the inputs (ignition, etc), after which it turns off again.
