5. Conclusions
With further urbanization in China, the waste output has shown
sharp increase in the past years. The annual waste production is
likely to rise to 600 million tons in the future. Therefore, research
has far reaching significance for the development of waste incineration
power industry in China. Waste incineration power industry
contributes to environmental protection, economic growth and
provides a huge number of related industrial opportunities. The
waste incineration power industry is a combination of the environmental
protection industry, new energy industry and municipal
infrastructure, which belongs to the emerging industries encouraged
by the government. Stimulated by increasingly high demands
for the quality of environmental protection, the development of
waste incineration and power generation industry advances better
and better. At present, the industrial chain from the waste collection
and transportation to the waste incineration has been the
developed more and more complete. The reduction and resourcing
of waste in recycling and harmlessness control are achieved. The
Chinese government provides unconditional supports to the waste
incineration power generation by publishing a series of plans, preferential
policies and subsidies. With the rapid development of
China in recent years, the incineration industry has entered into
a stage of rapid development, resulting in the large scale emergence
of waste to energy plants. By the end of 2013, waste incineration
power plants which increased by 28 compared with the
number in 2012. And the harmless disposal rate percentage of
waste incineration is 30% in 2013. The market shows a high
demand for waste incineration plants.
For the above reasons, the proportion of Chinese solid waste
going to waste incineration will continue to increase during the
‘‘Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period. In addition, it is expected that
the development of waste incineration in the middle and west of
China will accelerate. Therefore, this research of waste incineration
power industry presented in this paper has positive impacts in
facilitating the construction and investment of waste incineration
power projects in China.
