The increases in the P content of T. hemprichii near nutrient outflow areas, namely sites 1H, 2H, and 3H, provides evidence on how the outflow from human activities may influence nutrient processes within this lagoon. The organic inputs from the fish cage culture systems near transect 1 are the dominant nutrient sources in the bay. At site 2H, the P content in T. hemprichii was elevated due to the high P availability in the effluent of shrimp ponds. The P content in T. hemprichii at site 3H was elevated due to the high P availability in the runoff from Nanwan village.
