4.2. Implications
From the findings presented here, we can conclude that making connections between vocabulary and related concepts before and after reading of books is important for fostering generalization of vocabulary. Such insights might be incorporated into teacher professional development as well as coaching. Specifically, teacher scan be assisted in understanding that as they engage children inextended conversations, they are not only fostering and nurturing relationships with the children but also promoting their language and literacy skills (Dickinson et al., 2009).
