On the contrary, the production of ENPlus A2 pellets is easier. In this
case, the proportion of poplar could be higher and the homogeneity
of the blends better. The lower heating value (w.b.) of the two raw
materials is higher than 16.5 MJ/kg (w.b) and therefore, attending to
this parameter, both materials could be classified as ENPlus A1. However,
this parameter was not used to determine the proportion of raw material
to obtain pellets with highest quality. Similar conclusion could be derived from the chlorine, sulfur and nitrogen contents and the arsenic, cadmium,
copper, chromium, nickel, lead and zinc contents for the two rawmaterials,
because in all cases, the values given by EN 14961-2 to obtain
pellets ENPlus A1 are fulfilled.
