Corrective treatment is performed in situations where orthodontists cannot
render preventive or interceptive
treatment for some reason, or patients
present beyond the point of prevention.
There should be an attempt to
bring impacted maxillary canines
down to occlusion if possible, because
permanent canines are important for
both functional and aesthetic reasons.
Treatment can be divided into 2 types,
labial or palatal, depending on the
position of the ectopic canines
