Fig. 1(a) showsanoriginalmorphologyofCuW70infiltrated sinteringalloy.ThegraypartisWparticlesandthedarkgray
portion isthebondingphaseCu.ThelongitudinalsectionalSEM microstructuresoftheSFPB-treatedspecimensareshownin Fig. 1
(c), (e),(g).Comparingtotheoriginalmorphologyofthealloy,itis evident seenthattheplasticdeformationsonthesurfaceare
producedafterbombardment.Theshapeoftungstenparticles changesfromtheoriginalellipsoidtostripordirectlyintosmaller
grain.Withtheincreasingdepthfromthetreatedsurface,the depthofdeformationlayerareweakenedgradually.Whenthe
bombardmenttimeis60min(Fig. 1(g)), thethicknessupto21 mm. The surfaceSEMmicrostructuresoftheSFPB-treatedspecimens
areshownin Fig. 1(b), (d)and(f).Itcanbeobviouslyseenthata part ofWparticlesarefragmentedandbecomesmalleronthe
surface, theotherWparticlesareextrudedanddeformedmu- tuallyleadingtoanumberofcrackswithintheparticles,whilethe
