Organization exist to pursue goals, and hotels and restaurant properties pursue the goals of sales, customer service, investor profits, and related ends through people. In order to reach the goals, work must be completed. Managers must analyze work so it can be organized effectively and so people can be hired, matched to jobs, and managed for success. In every situation, a manager has work to be done and assigns a person or persons to see that it is completed. The analysis of work and the description of that work become the building blocks of people management the position description.
