Water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes.) is a common aquatic plant that grows widely Thailand. Its ability to absorb metal elements, especially by its roots, from the water has made it possible to use it for water purification purposes . The uptake of heavy metals in this plant is stronger in the roots than in the floatings shoots . The purpose of this study were to examine some heavy metal residues in hyacinth collected at different distances far away from the landfill waste of Nakhon Si Thammarat city by using X-ray spectroscopy technique.
