Heavier vehicles such as large trucks and RVs require even more stopping distance. For example, large trucks and RVs driving at a speed of 55 mph will need about 800 feet of stopping distance. If you are driving one of these “big rigs,” it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the vehicle’s physical limitations and maneuvering capabilities.
You do not want to be responsible for the aftermath of a collision if you smash into a compact car because you aren't used to the limitations of your truck or SUV.

A temporary maximum speed limit is sometimes set for the right-hand lane of a highway to accommodate slow-moving vehicles such as trucks and school buses. Construction zones may also require a temporary maximum speed limit differing from the usual posted limit. Always abide by the posted speed limit whether it is temporary or permanent! It is posted as such for a reason.
