Use Imagery to Develop Physical and Mental Skills
In addition to appreciating the merits of imagery and developing their imagery skills, athletes should recognize that imagery has nearly countless applications and potential uses (Hall 2001; Munroe, Gia-cobbi, Hall, & Weinberg 2000, Orlick & Partington 1988; Murphy & Martin 2002). Given that, in several respects, the mind interprets a vivid image and a real sport experience similarly, imagery can be used to develop any skill or strategy that can be practice physically. It can also be a powerful tool for mastering the mental game.
