Yet despite this evidence and despite rapid advances in technology along with lowered
costs, teachers across all subject areas have been slow to fully integrate technology into the
curriculum (Cuban, 2003; Keengwe, Onchwari, & Wachira, 2008). Reasons for this include lack of
time to learn about or teach students to use new technologies, lack of access, lack of professional
development, pressures related to standardized testing, and a sense that some technologies are
simply not practical for classroom use, among other concerns
