2. Block diagram of Solar PV Water Pumping
System
The block diagram shown in fig. I represents the
functional blocks of Solar PV Water Pumping Systems
[5-7].
The MPPT controller insures a PV system operates at
maximum power point of its solar cells at all times
under variable insolation level as well as load. Since
the power collected from the PV system varies W.r.t
variable insolation level and load. A MPPT controller
is connected between the PV module and the load to
insure maximum power is obtained from the system.
Inverter is a DC to AC converter which feeds either
single phase or three phase AC load. The lead acid
battery acts as an intermediate storage system. As solar
is not a constant source so the presence of battery
compensates the low solar radiation of short duration
and operate the motor and pump system at its rated
conditions.
