In order to reinforce regional economic integration, reduce obstacle of trade and
investment, support the connection of supply chain across border, and improve environment of
business, with the complements of the goals of the G-20 Framework for sustainable, strong and
balances of growth in the Asia-Pacific Region, APEC has four main objectives:
To Sustain the growth and development within the region and wellness of its peoples
and to contribute to the growth and development to the world economy
To enhance the positive gains, both for the region and the world economy, which come
from increasing economic interdependence including encouragement the flow of
goods, services, capitals and technologies
To develop and strengthen the open multilateral trading system in the interest of AsiaPacific
and all other economies
To reduce barriers to trade both in goods and services and in investment among the
members consisting with the principles of GATT, which are applied, and without
damaging other economies.
