Eimeria tenella: it is a parasitic protozoa that causes coccidiosis in poultry.Acquired by fecal contamination of food and water. Eimeria is a highly contagious protozoan disease that affects a wide range of livestock and nonproduction species, resulting in severe and difficult-to-treat conditions (Blake et al., 2021). The disease is caused by obligatory parasites belonging to the genus Eimeria and the Apicomplexa phylum (Noack etal., 2019). Coccidiosis, as it is commonly known, is prevalent worldwide a particularly in broiler chickens. Eimeria oocysts, which are the reproductive forms of the parasite, exhibit remarkable resistance toenvironmental stress and often contaminate water, litter, and feed. This contamination occurs primarily in cases of inadequate hygiene management and insufficient biosecurity measures on farms.
