The descriptive statistics of the seven anthropometric dimensions
of the students of the three different schools are presented in
Table 2. An Independent t-test (with 95% confidence interval) was
performed to examine the differences in measurements between
the different schools. Obtained results show that there is a significant
difference between schools C and A for Stature (t¼2.56;
p ¼0.01), Buttock-Popliteal Length (t¼2.15; p ¼0.03) and
Subscapular Height (t¼3.72; p ¼ 0.01) and between schools C
and B for Stature (t¼2.50; p ¼ 0.01) Buttock-Popliteal Length
(t¼2.11; p¼ 0.03) and Subscapular Height (t¼4.05; p ¼ 0.01).
In this case, and with a statistical significant difference, the Stature
of the students from school C (Private School) is higher than those
from schools A and B. This result shows that there is a difference
between Statures when considering different socio-economical
levels (Muzzo, 2003).
