There are also many different methods to adhere the
fragments to their supports. Gel-based cyanoacrylate glue
and two-component epoxy are the most frequently used
adhesives (Leewis et al. 2009). Dizon et al. (2008) compared these two glue types for fragmenting twelve IndoPacific stony coral species and found that fragments
attached with marine epoxy showed the lowest rate of
detachment and the highest rate of concurrent natural
attachment. Alternative to gluing, fragments can be bound
(using tie-wraps or nylon lines) or nailed to their support
(Soong & Chen 2003; Okuboet al.2005).
