I need to do something. Was the thought lingering in her head as she heard shrieks and yells from Ivy in the smoke from where she was standing. (Y/N) glance towards where she believed the children to be, and decided that she would do something. She'd save them.
"Okay okay... stop time... stop time..." (Y/N) whispered under her breath, repeating the same words over and over again as if it'd magically make time stop. She didn't know how she had stopped time in the first place, after all, so maybe repeating the same words and focusing on only one thing would help?
"You couulllddd just ask for my help you know~!"
(Y/N) cursed this little voice in her head and wanted to smash it into bits. Would she seriously have to live with this voice in her head for the rest of her life? This was getting annoying, having some other voice that sounded just like her own bossing her around.
"Rude!"
Time froze then and there, and (Y/N) made her way towards a group of huddled children staring fearfully at the smoke. Reaching out for one of their wrists and attempting to move them forward, (Y/N) was surprised to find it extremely difficult to even move them a foot forward.
"That's because time has been paused. It's unnatural for these people to move when time isn't moving - so if you do want to move them it'll be a bit hard... but when you use a lot of force it isn't impossible. Like when you kicked Ivy down when time was paused. It'll just... hurt... for them."
...
(Y/N) sighed.
There was only one way to do this apparently.
"Unfreeze time."
As commanded time unfroze and the children let out surprised gasps as (Y/N) appeared suddenly before them. (Y/N) brings a finger silently to her lips before helping one by one up, and pointed towards the cafeteria door.
All of them got the gist of it as they slowly crept towards the escape route, and (Y/N) watched as the smoke began to clear. Batman and Ivy could be seen fighting each other, while Metal Snapper was stumbling clumsily and seemed to be at the brink of exhaustion. It wasn't long before the large man with the metal jaw finally fell to the floor, tripping on his own two feet.
