To test the hypothesized relationships in the conceptual model, hierarchical
regression analysis was used. The hierarchical form of multiple regression
analysis involves entering groups of variables one at a time to test whether
each group has a significant effect on the dependent variable. The coefficient
of determination (R square) indicates how much of the variance in financial
satisfaction scores is explained by the independent variables. The
standardized regression coefficient (beta) indicates the unique effect of each
variable when the effects of all the other variables are eliminated. The betas
were used to examine the relative importance of the independent variables.
