Shochu (Japanese: 焼 酎) is a type of Japanese liquor, usually distilled from barley, sweet potato or rice usually has an alcohol content of about 25 percent stronger than sake. Which has been dubbed the "vodka of Japan" Shochu originates from the island of Kyushu. There are currently producing Shochu in Japan.
