All of these tests were carried out to quantify the amount of solid organic and inorganic matter in suspension. The obtained concentrations of VSS and TSS were 395 mg L1 and 19717 mg L1, respectively. According to these results, the solids
contribute a higher concentration of contaminants to water (both organic and/or inorganic compounds) compared to the amount of contaminants in solution. In the same way, the wastewater was found to have a turbidity of 89 NTU (Table 1). This value is consistent with the concentration of suspended solids.
